Turmaks, one of the leading companies in Turkey’s defense industry, successfully delivered three mobile maternity units to Sri Lanka as part of a project conducted in collaboration with the United Nations and the Ministry of Health of Sri Lanka. This significant initiative, facilitated by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), contributes to strengthening the country’s healthcare infrastructure.
The objective of Turmaks’ project is to enhance the quality of healthcare services in the region, particularly aiming to provide maternity services to women in remote areas. These mobile units, which also operate on solar energy, further demonstrate Turmaks’ international prominence and engineering capabilities.
Through collaboration between Turmaks and its project partner DIMO in Sri Lanka, with support from Tata Motors, the effective deployment of mobile maternity units to the field was ensured. This partnership significantly enhances both commercial and technical cooperation between Turkish and Sri Lankan companies.
